Our telecoms service is provided by edgetelecom.co.uk of which, we are a reseller. Edgetelecoms provides Fast2host a white label system which generates and manages the telecoms fax to email service. Fast2host the receives a percentage of the call revenue generated from Edge Telecoms.
However, due to OFCOM (Office of Communications) has reclassified the 0870 number to more accurately reflect call charges across the UK, we are no longer generating any revenue from the calls. Edgetelecoms are now billing us for the use of the numbers. Once a profitable income, is now losing money. The industry changes have been put in place to prevent the ability to receive any income from the use of 0870 numbers. Therefore this service will be closed down. Unified Messaging Service (UMS) is the process of collecting all of your faxes, emails and voicemail messages into one central location. You walk into your office and start up Outlook. Along with your usual email, there are also mails with attachments that contain any faxes and any voicemails you have received. Essentially, a computer will take your voicemail and translate it to sound files your computer can play. It also takes the faxes you are sent and changes them into pictures your computer can show you. This all happens automatically.
